Socorro High School had all of its fall sports teams competing over the weekend except for cross country, who will have their opening meet next Saturday. The Lady Warrior and Warrior soccer teams both opened their seasons with wins on Friday evening, the girls defeating Grants 10-0 in the Socorro Cup tournament while the boys defeated East Mountain 3-1 as part of a tournament in Hatch. The Lady Warrior Volleyball got the season off to a fine start with a 3 set sweep of Quemado at home on Saturday. The Lady Warriors won by scores of 25-14, 25-11, and 25-19. The Lady Warriors will travel to Robertson on Tuesday for their next match.

Marcus Armijo completed two touchdown passes to Duda Jackson, one for 62 yards and the other for 15 yards.
