On Sunrise Socorro’s March 25, 2025 edition host Steve Edmondson called for T. Reese Janca of Green Lion LLC to provide evidence of the allegations that he has made that there are “very powerful political people influencing things and controlling the judge” in the lawsuit he is involved in with Edmondson/Socorro Community Radio. Janca made these allegations on Monday morning on his morning streaming program and has made similar allegations on many occasions on his program and on his Facebook pages over the past several years. After years of Janca making such allegations but never providing any evidence to prove the allegations, Edmondson called for Janca to put up or shut up. (The lawsuit was filed by Edmondson against Janca in December 2017 and the court found in favor of Edmondson in August 2024. However, Janca filed an appeal that is currently in the New Mexico Court of Appeals.)
Edmondson noted that making charges of such corruption is very serious and one should be able to provide evidence in order to continue making such claims. Edmondson called for Janca to specifically name the “very powerful political people,” tell what things they are influencing and how, and explain how these people are “controlling the judge.” He challenged Janca to make a formal complaint to the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission if he believes the judge is engaged in corruption, as his allegations seems to indicate. He also invited Janca to make his case on Sunrise Socorro.
In February of 2022 Janca filed for a change of venue in the case and in the filing he stated that judge’s maternal parent maintained an undisclosed social and political relationship with a former state representative and his wife. However, it turned out that the woman that Janca identified as the maternal parent of the judge was not related to the judge at all. Janca has also claimed that Edmondson has received financial support in the lawsuit, but has never provided any names of such backers or provided any evidence of such support. Edmondson said he hoped Janca would name these supporters so that he could ask them what happened to the money since he never received it.
