Governor puts brakes on re-opening as cases rise


Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has paused moving to the next phase of re-opening as the number of cases in the state has been rising over the past week. Lujan Grisham reminded New Mexicans that the stay-at-home order is still in effect and put a strong emphasis on wearing face coverings. She threaten to have personal citations issued to those that fail to wear masks. The governor emphasized that in order to open schools in the fall the number of cases would need fall.

The governor also discourgaged people from other states traveling to New Mexico and New Mexicans from traveling outside the state. New Mexico has the most restrictive COVID-19 measures in the nation according to a study by Wallethub.
