1975Tammy Wynette recored “‘Til I Can Make It on My Own” at Columbia Recording, Nashville, Tennessee. The song became Wynette’s fifteenth #1 on the country charts. Wynette noted on multiple occasions that the song was her personal favorite of all that she had written or recorded.
1982The Clint Eastwood, produced and directed, film Honkytonk Man was released. Set in the Great Depression, the film which stars Eastwood with his son, Kyle Eastwood was loosely based on the life of Country music legend Jimmie Rodgers.

2018Country music songwriter Jerry Chestnut died in Nashville at the age of 87. His hits include “Good Year for the Roses” (recorded by Alan Jackson, George Jones and Elvis Costello) and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” (recorded by Elvis Presley in 1975, and Travis Tritt in 1992.)
