6 Socorro Country Teams Qualify for State Playoffs

All of Socorro County’s high school basketball teams qualified for the NMAA State Basketball Championship Playoffs with the 2-time defending 1A Champion Magdalena Steers leading the way with a #1 seed on the strength of a 28-0 record and a 10th consecutive district championship. Also making the field in 1A were the Lady Steers, the Alamo Navajo girls and the Alamo Navajo boys. In 3A both the Socorro Lady Warriors and Warriors made the field and will be traveling to Tohatchi for their opening round games on Friday for the Lady Warriors and Saturday for the Warriors.
